Food, what can I say about food that you don’t already know? We spend most of our lives eating, there’s breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes we eat more, sometimes less. Food can be found at the base of the world’s greatest cultures, take the Italians for example. Their food and lifestyle are based on simple, fresh and seasonal produce. Then we look at Morocco where the food is influenced by all the travelers that have passed through, although Morocco is a melting pot of many countries, Moroccan food is uniquely Moroccan. Food defines who we are and who we want to be.If I could, I would spend most of my days in the kitchen, creating, learning, eating and sharing my stories. I’d spend my time out of the kitchen in a room filled from floor to ceiling with cookbooks. I’d also spend time with my beautiful girlfriend. She gets the best and worst of being in a relationship with someone who loves food as much as I do. On the plus side she gets to be the taste tester (I guess this could also be a bad?) and the negative side, usually by the time I’ve taken “just one more photo” the food has gone cold, sorry about that.Hi my name is Matt, I figured it was about time to stop rambling and actually tell you about me. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I work full-time in a completely non-food related role and I’m completely addicted to both coffee and cookbooks. I’ve created this blog not only to store my recipes and ideas for myself, but for you as well. I want to inspire you all to enjoy more time in the kitchen, create new dishes and share your stories. I want you all to be inspired, and hopefully I can achieve this through my ramblings. I am not a professional chef/cook/anything related. Everything I have learned has come from watching Jamie Oliver, reading cookbooks and spending countless hours surfing the web, and yes I still set the smoke alarms off.As for the photographs on this blog, well this is a new journey for me. I’ve had my camera for just a little longer than I’ve had the blog. I’m still learning how to use it, but I’m loving the experience. I believe that the photos should tell half the story, as amazing as the photos in food magazines and cookbooks look, sometimes I find them a little too clinical and placed. If I feel a photo of Pork Carnitas will benefit from the rustic nature of adding a little film grain well that’s what I’ll do. If a picture of a steak sandwich needs an over exposed background… well you get the point.Thank you for stopping by and reading all about Inspired FoodCreate, inspire and share your journey.
